1st Toolbox Tuesday

The 1st Toolbox Tuesday is today, because we want your Thanksgiving Break to begin as soon as your students are gone tomorrow.  It will be a make and take.  We will be making an Exit Ticket board (see pic below).  Classroom teachers will also be getting a surprise to aid with fluency.  See you in the library right after school. Please bring a pair of scissors and a glue stick.  

November Teacher Toolbox Tuesday

The 1st Toolbox Tuesday was a big hit!  21 teachers attended.  The focus of today was to create an Exit Ticket Board.  Teachers were also given fluency tools to aid in their teaching.

Career Day at Columbia

Columbia Elementary had Career Day on Friday, November 22.  Many people from the community volunteered their day to share their careers with Columbia students.

 

 

 

 

November Leadership Luncheon

Columbia had a special treat for the month of November.  In honor of Veteran's Day students were joined by active and retired military.  Together they discussed what it takes to be a leader.

Teacher Toolbox Tuesdays

Starting in November teachers will have the opportunity to share their talents.  We will gather once a month and share ideas.  This will be a time to tap into the talents in our own backyard.  

Pumpkin Math in 2nd Grade!

2nd grade classes gathered in the cafeteria today to show off their math skills.  They used their pumpkins to estimate and graph the weight, height, circumference, number of seeds and number of lines.  Parents volunteered their time to prep the pumpkins and assist the students in gathering their math data.

Columbia Where EVERYONE is a leader!

Students are showing off their association with Student Council with some fabulous shirts.  

Campus Clean Up

Staff and students from Columbia Elementary School came together to clean up our school site.  By taking care of our school campus students are developing a sense of ownership and pride.
