January 28 Toolbox Tuesday - FLUENCY

The Toolbox Tuesday for January will focus on fluency instruction.  We re-visit what fluency is, the bridge fluency forms, the 3 roles in assessing fluency, and instruction for intervention.  We will also discuss the resources we have ordered to aid in our fluency instruction, Read Naturally and Reading A-Z.

We will conclude our PD by making a fluency anchor chart.  See picture below.  Please join us for 30 minutes of fluency fun!

January Toolbox Tuesday Flyer

Daily 5

Our staff has been implementing the Daily 5 management system to provide their students with purposeful practice during their literacy block.   Daily 5 is a structure that helps students develop the daily habits of reading, writing, and working independently that will lead to a lifetime of literacy independence.

Hall of Fame Goal Reachers

A Hall of Fame Goal Reachers board has been created. Students who have reached the goals they set themselves, were called up on the intercom to have their pictures taken and put on the Hall of Fame board. Mrs. Gomez and Mr. Chaires talked to each goal reacher and asked them how they reached their goals and to congratulate them.
